Holiday Blues

My daughter is leaving tonight to spend Thanksgiving with her father.  I will be miserable alone without her, so I'm leaving.  I don't know where I'll be, just that I won't be here.  I know the casino will be having a Thanksgiving buffet, so I'll start there.  I'll stay if I'm winning.  If I'm losing, maybe I'll get started on exploring the Texas Forest Trail.

Come to England! We don't have Thanksgiving, we're an ungrateful bunch.

Sending good vibes your way, Jen. Hope the weekend turns out better than you expect! Happy Thanksgiving.

When I was single and living in a state without any of my relatives, I remember some weekends wondering what I would do. Seems everyone at my job had family and obligations. I would take a drive to a tourist area, walk around, go home tired, and crash.
Like Rebecca, I hope you will be surprised with some good companionship tomorrow. :)

@UberGrumpy: Too bad I don't have a passport. I really need to get one of those.

@Rebecca S.: I could use some good vibes. Thanks!

@Anita: I usually find good company at the blackjack tables. We'll see what happens.

I hope you enjoy the day... How about checking out the Big Bend area of Texas for me, it's the only part of that state I'm interested in exploring (I've spent enough time around Dallas and in the Houston airport).

@gayle: I'm ok as long as I don't stay home. Thanks for the good wishes!

@LL Cool Joe: Me, too. I'll go find something fun.

@sage: Big Bend is 10 hours away and I have to be back Saturday morning for Ren Fest. If you've only seen Dallas and Houston, you haven't seen Texas at all.

I hope you didn't spend Thanksgiving alone. Don't give in to that kind of sadness. Find some friends or family nearby and do something with them, even if it's going out to dinner instead of staying in.

Here's to hoping the Christmas season is very good for you.

@drollgirl: It went very well. I won enough to cover my room, gas, and then some. I hope you find some way to keep yourself occupied this Christmas so you won't be lonely and that your health remains good.

@Kate: I don't think she was looking forward to the drama with her father's family. I think she prefers the quiet ones we spend together. I bit my tongue to keep from telling her she didn't have to go...

@Josephine Tale Peddler: 390 dollars worth of magic...

@BrightenedBoy: I don't like to feel like someone's pity project. I did not stay home, though. It was not a terrible holiday.
