My current obsession is the birding and wildlife trails of Texas. I'm trying to visit them all. There are 9 of them, some with over 100 sites. This may take a while...

Online Dating
I decided to update my match.com profile with new photos and an updated "about me" section. How do I sound independent but not anti-social? It's not easy. I also realized I have only one recent picture in which I'm not wearing a hat and sunglasses.
I hadn't meant to make it visible to other members yet, but somehow it's available. I received winks from 2 men that are way older than I said I was looking for and very overweight. Why is it always the large, unkempt men who insist that their women take care of themselves? A six pack is not required, but what am I going to have in common with a couch potato? I need to date someone that can keep up with me.
I realize some of my readers are older and not marathon runners. You are wonderful people. I want to befriend every interesting person I can find, from any walk of life. I want to date someone who enjoys doing the same things I do.
I rarely respond to winks anyway. It seems kind of lazy. Why not send an email?
I did receive one email, but I can't see from who until I cough up some money.

hahahaha! The perils of online dating! Great post!!
Don't give up. I know of one person who met their soul-mate this way xx
Yeah blogging buddies are a bit different from dating buddies.
I think the whole idea of being winked at by anyone would send me running.
Good luck I hope you find your soul mate.
@Tammy: Thank you.
@Josephine Tale Peddler: I have a friend who met her husband on Match. She's the one who convinced me to sign up in the first place. I'm going to be a lot pickier this time.
@LL Cool Joe: Three more winks this morning. What's up with the winks?
Hi Jen, Thanks for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment. It was good to see a new visitor!
I've paged through yours a little and haven't decided what fascinated me the most. :) But I am going to follow along and be surprised.
I envy your running. Don't know if I'll ever come close to running anything more than a slow 10k, especially at my age, but who knows. :)
Good luck with the dating. Hope you'll fine a nice, interesting, companion.
@Anita: Thank you for returning the visit. I'm fascinating? *blush* Maybe some great guy on match will think I'm fascinating, too.
Ah, I am reminded of the load of crap that is match.com! The lame-ass winkers...the alleged matches who aren't on there any more...the emails that you can't read unless you pay...then you DO pay to read the email and you are utterly disinterested in the person. Plenty of Fish is way better and substantially less craptastic.
But it is VERY nice to read that you still want to meet somebody! And you have not been lured back to that site which is useful for everything BUT meeting people...with notable exceptions including abandoned beaches of the 4th of July.
@Tallshag: The same guys are on all the dating sites, including the one you referenced.
