My current obsession is the birding and wildlife trails of Texas. I'm trying to visit them all. There are 9 of them, some with over 100 sites. This may take a while...

Carb Loading
Six more days until the San Antonio Marathon and time to pull out the pasta cookbooks. I'll be carb-loading all week. Spinach lasagna roll-ups sound good. I'll try that recipe tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.
This is a week of rest. I need to store energy for the race. No workouts except ultra-easy no longer than 30 minutes, if that.
My friend and I are going to walk the half marathon this time. My knee did not allow me to train properly to be able to run and she had always planned to walk. This is a rock 'n roll marathon with a live band every mile and a concert after. The course will take us past the Alamo and other historic sites. It should be a fun one. I'll carry my camera since I won't be running.

Good luck - it sounds fun. I'm going to get super-fit (ha ha) once I'm feeling better. Think I'll sign up for a 5K run...
I love Spinach .. :)) Good luck with the marathon!
@Kate: Lots of people walk the 5K's here. You don't need to be super-fit. Get out there as soon as you feel up to it. Your fitness level will improve quickly once you get started.
@Poppy: Me too. Thank you.
I suppose I have walked my share of marathons--I keep having dreams about running one, but I don't think my knee would go for it.
@sage: My knee is not cooperating right now, either. I will probably keep walking them if I can't run any more. I think there are more people that have run marathons than have hiked the Appalachian Trail. You've got bragging rights.
