Survivor

My daughter and cheer friends (2006):

I just watched the Survivor final.  I didn't watch much this season so I wasn't familiar with anyone, but after the first 10 minutes I already knew I didn't want Russell to win.  He may have played a good strategic game, but arrogance is a huge turnoff.  I'm glad he didn't win.

Does anyone watch Survivor any more?  I used to watch it all the time.  If I couldn't be home, I'd record it.  I lost interest somewhere.  Next season will be the Heroes vs. Villains of the past.  I may have to tune in to see it.  I'd like to see Rupert play again.

If I could be on a reality show, I'd choose Amazing Race.  When my daughter was on a competition cheer squad I tried to get one of the other moms to go on it with me.  We could've been the Texas Cheerleader Moms!

I'm not familiar with any of the realities you've mentioned. But since I'm anonymous I'd admit I watch the America's Next Top Model every Sunday night ;)
The girls look very pretty and cheerful. My girls think half the fun about gymnastics is the make up part and costumes, cheerleading seems to be the same.
I'm sorry, now I remember you've mentioned about activities before.

I'm such a Puritan. I've never watched Survivor and have only seen one or two reality TV shows

I found that the idea behind the show was a bit Lord of the Flies for my liking. Only worse. At least in the Golding story the excuse that boys left to their own devices would turn savage has some reason, these programmes do not have that saving grace.

Have a happy Christmas, to you and yours.

Do you remember that Coke Advert in the 80's with all the kids from around the World, the above shot has that feel about it.

@the mom: They hated the Minnie Mouse bows, but liked the makeup and uniform. They are quite serious about their stunts, though.

@gayle: I hope I didn't spoil it for you. At least I didn't tell you who did win.

@sage: You'd laugh at some of their attempts at surviving in the outdoors. It's a good thing they are given some help and have a medical team on standby.

@Vince: I'd like to teach the world to sing...

I still love survivor. I like people like Russell on the show. I hate when they all cry because someone lied to them. Russell's arrogance did him in, though.

I don't watch much in the reality-show genre -- I like stories, with a plot.

Although great character development does occur!

@otin: I hate when they act like sheep and do what they're told. Those are the ones crying because they were lied to.

@Jeanne: I think it's more character revealing than development. The going gets tough and they show their true colors.
