Secrets

You chat with me online...tell me I'm someone you'd like to get to know...send me a friend request on Facebook.  When I comment on one of your status updates you delete my comment?  What's up with that?  I don't have to be your one and only when we first meet, but I won't be your dirty little secret.  You should be showing me off, not hiding me.

FYI:  This was NOT about Poker Guy.  He not only does not delete my comments, he wrote, "Thanks, Jennifer.  I'll see you Saturday."

I was about to track down and then smack around the Poker Guy. Glad it wasn't him. I think he is the "Big" to your "Carrie Bradshaw" My wife is a fan of the show, what can I say?

@John: There were a few episodes that I thought Big needed to be smacked around.

@kenju: He's hiding me from a wife, girlfriend, someone...

@gayle: I think I'd rather just delete him from my friend list.

Well you have 71 readers from Ireland. It might be me 71 times.

But what the Hell is on your site that has my 'puter going nuts.

Jen that sux ... and it's an obvious sign he's hiding something so ... :)
And the other thing I feel about blogs and facebook and myspace is this is all public and it annoys me when people write something (like status on FB) and then delete status comments or say you have no right to read it. I mean... it's internet, if you don't want anyone to read it then why are you writing these things online at all? it's nonsense ...

@Vince: Have you visited me that many times? I don't know what's wrong with your computer. I haven't heard that from anyone else. Is it just slow loading the page?

@Poppy: Exactly! What's the point of being friends on Facebook if you don't want me to comment? You just want to stalk my page and see what I'm up to? I haven't told any of my friends about this blog, but if they find it I'm not going to tell them they can't read it. Some people make no sense to me...

I was so going to do a post about this. I have people I don't really know but thru a friend but then I comment on their FB status they either delete or don't comment back. Why did you ASK me to be your friend? Crazy.

Glad to hear Poker guy doesn't do that!

I'm sorry Jen, but I was afraid Mom would read your proposition and I'd be written out of the will....

Just kidding, I didn't even know you had a facebook account (and now I hope you don't mind my sarcasm)

Vince said...

No it isn't. The page loads well enough. It's just doesn't stop loading, ever.

Happy Christmas.

I don't know about Facebook. Sometimes I think it lets people engage in behaviors (like deleting comments, unfriending people) that are not very nice, and with no mechanism for following up, or telling the person, face-to-face, what the issue is.

Maybe it should be called "Facelessbook".

I swear...I am not a big fan of FB to begin with...but yours is not the first post I've read where someone has suffered some angst at the hands of it.

I'm seriously questioning it's value overall.

Seems like more trouble than it's worth. Too much pressure....befriending...unfriending....YUCK.

Jen, I'm sensing a little stress here. Get it out of your life at the first sign of it.

Happy New Year!

Get back to blogging when you can. :)
