Business Cards

I had to print out the cards and then scan them in order to post them here.

I got the idea from Unknown Mami.  Hers look much more professional than mine.  I suspect it's because I need a printer upgrade.  Lately, I've been meeting a few people who also write and understand my need for creative release.  Some even blog or have blogged in the past themselves.  It would be handy to have something to give them instead of searching for a pen and scrap of paper.  Also, last year on my roadtrip I met several people who gave me their information, on scraps of paper, because they wanted updates on my trip.  It was inconvenient to try to send emails to several different people and the scraps of paper were too hard to keep up with.  This year, I will hand out the cards to people I meet instead.  They can get updates from my blog.

I like the third version best, but I'm not going to pass them out until my trip is underway.  The first version, which doesn't mention the trip, looks a bit naked but I can't think of anything to add.  What do you think?

Jen,

I'm going to have to go with #3-- esp. because of the Pelican. Also a good Ice Breaker-as if you'd need one. Maybe the Pelican pic on #2 ?

Whatever you choose will be a winner. What a super idea!

I like #3. It has enough info on it without being too busy. Simple is the need for something like this I feel.
It can save a lot of explainations and repeating names and numbers. etc.
Take care, I am sure either one would fill the bill.

all are nice; I like the middle one; I like the "follow my journey" phrase

sounds like it is going to be a fun trip indeed!

I pick the top one!

I think you just pick the best two and make them two sided cards :0)

I like them all! I got some bloggy business cards and I love them! They make me feel all growned up. lol

Heh...I'd wondered whatever became of the piece of notebook paper I gave you with my info on it!

I like that first card best. Maybe add something below the email addy like, Stay In Touch?

It would for sure be less hassle (and maybe cheaper too, depending on how many cards you want) to just pay to have the cards printed.

I like number two but with number threes picture. Maybe a watermark map of the USA in the background?..or just add some background colour.

@Unknown Mami and Jingle: I like that one for when I'm not travel blogging. I just have to make it look a little less naked.

@Brian and Corgi: I like the second one because of the "follow my journey" phrase. I'll keep that part.

@John: That's my photo! I took it in the Everglades. I completely forgot I had my own pic of a brown pelican I could have used on my last post. Maybe the "follow my journey" phrase on number 3?

@Jack: I agree with the too busy part. After a certain point it just looks cluttered.

@Eternally distracted: I do have two-sided templates to play with...

@The Blue Zoo: I haven't had business cards in a year. I miss them. They do make you feel all growed up. Plus, now I have something to put in the fishbowls at restaurants.

@Rob: But half the fun is creating and making different versions.

@Tempo: Watermark of USA might be too sophisticated for my software...but the color added to the background might work to make the first one less naked. I'll play with that idea. Thanks.

They're all nice, but I think I like #2 best.

I'm back! I think maybe for the first one you could add a tag line like, "Follow my journey through life." I don't know something to keep with the travel theme.

Greetings from Missouri!

Thanks for visiting my place. I shall poke around here shortly, but thanks for the comment and question, which I tried to answer for you.

BTW, I've spent a number of enjoyable weeks prowling about Big Bend, the Davis Mountains, and Guadalupe Mountains NP. Alpine, Texas is on our short list of "places we are considering retiring.

Oh, an my kids, when they were younger, always inquired about road trip destinations with, "Is it as far away as Texas?"

Cheers.

@sugar plum fairy: You are right! That is a nice giveaway. I entered.

@Buckeroomama, kelly, and alady's life: Thanks so much for your input. It's appreciated.

@sage: I blogged a little about my last one, but not enough. I tried to write about it when I returned but it's hard to remember details after the fact. I'm going to take more notes, post more photos, and write every day, even if I'm not near an internet connection - for posting when I get the chance.

@deb: A lot of people seem to be intrigued by my trips even if they wouldn't go themselves. I hear everything from "Wow! I admire you" to "You're a freak!" It never fails to get a conversation started, though.

@buffalodick: You know in the end mine is the opinion that counts. I appreciate the feedback, though.

@Unknown Mami: Or follow me as I start my life over...follow my journey into life after 40...I don't like those completely, but I like your idea. Now to come up with just the right phrase...

@R. Sherman: I haven't visited those parks yet. Maybe on a long weekend, I'll go visit that region.

@Jingle: Thank you! You are so generous and kind.

I love this idea and need to do it myself. =) You need to think of maybe a tagline or your favorite quote to put on the first one but I think they all look fantastic!

Great idea, I'd go for the second one....Hugs

Hi Jen! Wow, we both wrote about business cards and tampons around the same time! That is quite eerie! Great minds think alike, right? LOL

Yep-- The follow my journey pulls you in- and gives it that personal touch!

GREAT SHOT BTW!!! I love it!!!!!!

I love that idea! ALthough I personally wouldn't give out my email address, but that's just me. A Blog Card. I really like it, I'm already dreaming up my own right now. Thanks for the great idea!

I like the last one.

What a wonderful idea that is !
In my opinion the first is the best. Please have a wonderful Tuesday.

@Michelle Pixie: I agree it needs a tagline. Working on that.

@Bernie: I think I'm going to combine elements of 2 and 3. Thanks for the input.

@Susan: It was more than a little eerie. Still hearing the Twilight Zone music. Thanks for visiting.

@John: Follow my journey it is...for both versions.

@Heather: That is the email address I set up for blogging and nothing else. If it creates problems, I will take it off. Avery has free templates online. I found them very useful.

@athens: More people like that one than I expected. I'll keep it when I'm not travel blogging and use the other while I'm on my road trip.
