He's got to be the most adorable geocache I've found so far. My route took me along part of the waterway again. Other than the kitty, the highlight of the evening was the birds. The egret was there and this time he brought a friend.
They let me get within 10 feet before flying away, and even then only moved about 20. They just wanted a little more elbow room is all. They seem to be used to people.
I've been enjoying reading some of the logs of the caches I've already found to see what other people write. The cardinal is still standing guard, scolding. One geocacher wrote that he half expected her to dive at him screaming "mine, mine" like the seagulls in Finding Nemo. I also don't feel so bad about the caches that I didn't find when I read the next person couldn't find it, either.

How quickly will it be flaged that one of the caches has been nicked.
That kitty is so unique and cute! Love the pic of the Egret!
Love the kitty...how come it hasnt been nicked yet?...it sure would be here..then end up in someones garden I expect. My Garmin Marine 60 arrived at last..now all I gotta do is learn how to use it. LOL
nice. that is a cool cache. was reading another blog about geocaheing yesterday. i think i just might...
I think that kitty is one cool cat. Liked the picture of the birds.
That's a really cute geocache! Can you set up your own cache for others to find?
Yes, you can set up your own geocaches. You are then expected to maintain it. If several people report they did not find it, you are expected to go check and see if it's still there and replace if required. They are not easy to find accidentally (or even on purpose sometimes), so it's not a huge problem.
The 21st century version of a scavenger hunt! We used to do those a few times a year- it was fun!
I remember scavenger hunts! Ours, we got a list of odd items to find, but they weren't hidden in any specific place. I also remember one night someone knocking on our door and saying, "I'm doing a scavenger hunt. Can you spare a roll of toilet paper?" Those were fun!
its like a treasure hunt, sometimes you find the treasure and sometimes you don't. seems like it is an interesting adventure though as you keep searching for them though
betty
I went to the site you provided and saw there were TONS in my area!
Okay... you may have explained this already, but once you find one are you supposed to go online and make note there that you found it? I noticed there that they all have notations on them as to the last time they were found.
YES! Just like we like to read comments on our posts, the cache owners like to read about your experiences hunting for their caches. You should log the ones you didn't find, as well. I don't know if I mentioned that there is an iPhone app available on the website, so if you have the right phone, there is no need to buy a GPS.
That is one COOL CAT CACHE! Like little treasure hunts.

I would never have recognized the kitty as a geocache! You have sharp eyes and a quick mind. And what an incredible photo! You are good! ~Janine XO
You've just redefined for me what a cache can look like. We so often crawl around for twenty minutes, to no avail. Wouldn't a kitty make it more fun for the kids?
How cute is that cat, what an amazing find.
I love that cat!
