Has My Ship Come In?

Image from Flickr.

I know I said I wasn't sending out any more resumes until February so that I could concentrate on building my Avon business. That doesn't mean I'm dumb enough to pass up a good job offer if it comes along in January. I sent out two resumes in December and got two interviews with job placement agencies recruiting for temp-to-perm positions. Today, I received a phone call from one of those agencies to schedule an interview with the client, a freight forwarding company. I used to handle some of their business while I was working for the container shipping line and they have an excellent reputation. I'm excited!

You do know that the ship is empty. Probably heading back to China.
Every time I see one of those ships I think of a child peeping over a blanket after a bad dream.

Best of luck with the job.

@Everyone crossing fingers: Thanks! (Just don't put them behind your backs.)

@Vince: Probably not completely empty. If it's headed to China I bet it has some wastepaper, scrap metal, and empty plastic bottles. They recycle our trash and sell it back to us.

@Sage: How are those plans coming along?

@John McElveen: Yep. Also, Iceland is all green but Greenland is all ice.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! They still had a few people to interview and there is only one position available. I'm happy to be getting interviews. Someone will want me.
