Cut Off

I received a notice from the Texas Attorney General's office that my ex's employer has been notified they are no longer required to withhold from his wages. I thought I was supposed to receive child support until she graduated high school, but I checked my papers and support ended on her 18th birthday. He's never going to voluntarily pay anything, so we are on our own now.

I still have enough money for several months yet...and that interview on Monday...we'll be okay...

Go back and revisit it in the courts. It should be relatively easy as the file is current and the case has never been closed. Try and get her an income until she finished a post second level qualification.
In most situations parental support will continue in circumstances where the child/student is in fulltime study with a passing grade.
Your Ex sounds a bit of a prick.

I agree with Vince.

Good luck Jen, I think Vince has the right idea. Your ex should proved for his daughter until she finishes school but then that is the right thing to do...will he do it?.....:-)Hugs

I thought it would be easy to get support increased from $120 a month a few years ago. It wasn't. It took over a year and cost me a lot of money. The man is a charmer who convinces people I'm the insane one. I don't need him sabotaging my efforts to get a job or using the key he can't be persuaded he has no right to possess (he copied my daughter's). I

And my ex's grandmother is willing to pay for her college should she decide to go. It might be better for my daughter if we just let her father off the hook for the last 4 months.

How generous of his grandmother! I understand your reasoning that sometimes it's easier to let sleeping dogs lie.

That is wonderful that his grandmother will pay for her education. Really hope she goes. It's so hard to get a job now a days without a college education.
