Day 9: Acorns

I need some help with inspiration.  Luckily, the blogosphere is full of weekly prompts like Macro Monday.
I kept my eyes peeled during my evening walk, stopping to take a photo of anything that might make an interesting macro subject.  I think this is the best of the bunch.

Even though it's clearly daytime it often pays to use the forced flash option on your camera to fill in those dark areas. I tend to take several shots of the same thing with different settings to make sure I get a good shot there somewhere...
Ive never seen Acorns before...interesting

@Nicola: Thank you.

@Tempo: Really? No oak trees in Oz? I can't force flash in auto mode and need more practice with manual mode.

@Brian Miller: I never had a slingshot. I missed all the fun!

There would be a few Oak trees in Botanic Parks here and there but the answer you want would be...NO!
