Beautiful Blue Day

The images are mine, taken this afternoon.  Today was too pretty to stay inside.  I put my definitely-not-bikini-ready body in my swimsuit and went out to the pool, missing toenails and all.  One of the big toenails finally came off, but it is barely noticeable.  If someone wasn't looking very closely at my feet, they would never know.  I also saw that the other women were twice my size and didn't feel self-conscious any more.  I sat poolside reading my book and relaxing.  Someone was grilling and the smell made me hungry.

My apartment complex doesn't allow cooking on patios, but they provide these areas with grills and tables for residents enjoyment.  I just bought a recipe book specifically for outdoor cooking in anticipation of my road trip.  I should start testing recipes.  These picnic areas are just a few steps from the pool enclosure, so I can  easily take a break from my novel to check on my meal.

Oooooh yeah I could happily spend a day or 365 there!

And re your comment don't worry, there's no way we could resist letting the chickens out to play. I love watching them do that chicken of the wild hunt and forage thing too much, and my boyfriend's a firm believer in critters being given a chance to enjoy their natural urges and whatnots!

The pool looks inviting. Just got the son's pool opened looking forward to warm weather. When we walk around camming areas the smell of food wakes your taste buds BIG TIME. I am sure it is the same around the pool. Sherry lost several toe nails when we were walking AT.

Looks great! I'm definitely more of a warm weather person than cold.

@tattytiara: There's about 200 days that are warm enough.

@The Blue Zoo: It finally feels like summer here.

@Brian Miller: Agreed! I can't wait to get started.

@Tempo: The water is still a little too cold for a swim, but the sun feels great on my shoulders.

@Pam: It's one of the nicest pools I've seen in an apartment complex. I love it.

@jack69: I want to hike the AT one day. My outdoor group is doing a section, but I'll be in school.

@Kelly: Me, too. I'm definitely solar-powered.

What a lovely place to live! Nice pool area and bbq area. I would take full advantage of that! Get that book out and start cooking! (show us the results, so we can drool)

@buffalodick: That's January weather here.

@Just telling it like it is: I've lost 5...one big toenail, both second toenails, and both pinky toenails. All except the big toe are growing back nicely. The ugliest is the other big toe which hasn't fallen off. Don't stress. No one has even noticed mine.

@Heather: With my cooking skills (or lack thereof) you may get a few giggles.

Nice to see a bit of your environment and the shadow of you taking the picture as well. Seems to be a wonderful place to spend time with good friends and forgetting about life and its weight.
Please have a wonderful Wednesday.

@athens: I never even noticed my shadow until you mentioned it, but I enlarged the photo and there is my camera. LOL
