I Hear You Knockin'

...but you can't come in...

Today I found a private investigator's card on my door with a note on the back to please call.  In my experience, these people don't easily go away so I thought I could make a quick call, answer a few questions, and be done with it.  I left him a voice mail:  "I found your card on my door.  I'm not sure what this is about."  I did not leave my name or number.  If he was hired by the person I think, he already has that info.

I went for a bike ride and my phone started vibrating.  It was my daughter.  "There's a man in a suit at the door and he won't go away."

Now I'm annoyed.  Can he not just return a phone call?  I called his number again.  Of course he still didn't answer.  Now I'm pissed.  "If that's you at my door, I'm not home and you're scaring my daughter.  GO AWAY!"

Then I texted the new guy.  "Does the PI at my door belong to your wife?"  He says no, he can't imagine why she would still have PI's checking up on him.  My money says he's the one getting played...

I did not hurry home for that idiot.  I rode an additional 5 miles before returning to find another card from the same PI's office with the same note on the back.  Maybe I'll call him again tomorrow, maybe I won't.

I didn't get laid.  Not even phone sex.  We never so much as kissed.  At least let me sin a little if I'm going to have to deal with all this drama.

Why would it matter ?. You're a no-fault State, right. It's not as if the git needs photos of you both, and you with your legs akimbo.
And surely the no-fault bit extends to access to his kids unless he is really doing something really out of the way

Well, I don't know the whole story here, but I would think this man that keeps coming around & won't go away & only your daughter is home is in violation of the law especially if it's more than a few times. Doesn't that come under the heading of stalking? I'd get to the bottom of it & have him arrested for harassment for sure. Good luck with that. Thanks for playing along with us today I hope it took your mind off of things for a while. Hope you come back next week too with a follow up would be nice. You take care & don't open the door for this guy. I don't like the way it sounds. Following you already.

That's just odd...can't wait to hear the follow-up! My money's on the ex-wife. It's always about the ex!

Here in Oz you only have to tell them once to not call again and after that you can get a restraining order no matter what their business is. Its a very unsettling thought that he can turn up anytime like that.

whoa, whoa! I feel like you just nonchalantly bring this up and I hope you're okay! Dealing with a PI sounds like an INSANE stresser. How lame to have them constantly at your door and not telling you what it is that they need... lame I tell you, lame! Be sure to let us know if you ever get an answer..

I would call the cops. With only your daughter being home and he won't leave... that's incredibly messed up.

Interesting. And, I agree, it would be more fun if there was a little sin involved. sheesh.
