Try a Tri

Triathlon Start, originally uploaded by thebrandbuilder.

I joined BCO's new triathlon team and signed up for my first race. I have until October 17 to get ready for a 300 meter swim, 10-mile bike, and 3-mile run. My goal is to finish. If my time is slow I plan to tell everyone I paid for 2 hours and 20 minutes - I'm just trying to get my money's worth.

Go Jen.....good for you. You have lots of time to get in shape for it and have no doubt you will finish, the time is not important .... it's the journey....:-) Hugs

For someone from Texas you seem to be taking the long route about killing yourself.
The Marathons, full or half, the hiking the boating and whatever other activities you get up to are good healthy clean fun, cleanish anyway. But triathlons are for self doping idiots. And can only be said to be a good thing in that those who partake are so busy training that they have no time for sexual activities thereby be unable to breed.

No such thing as no time for sex. I'm done breeding anyway, and my current infatuation is 4 states away so...

You're incredible Jen..and that still stands if you take a long time to finish or not at all. Most of us just groan and go 'No Way!' Cheers to you.

Cute costumes. I hope that you'll be wearing something a little more appropriate on the day. If not I look forward to the photos.
I'd be inclined to do this by bus and boat, but to each his(her) own.

Joking aside, I wish you good fortune with this exciting challenge. I admire you for giving it a go.

All the best, Boonsong

Goodness girl, you really do put me to shame. I pedaled four miles and it nearly killed me!!

Seriously though, I'm rooting for ya! You are an inspiration!

GREAT, and that is a good line! You are in pretty good shape now, I would think. Training will tone it all up just a little more. Hope it is something you enjoy!

Good luck as you begin training! I'm far too sedentary for activities like this.

Gosh! When you said you were starting over, you really meant it.
Good for you!!!
I wish I could be right there with you.
Funny how life and family changes so many things and you never get to be free this way to do the things you really want to.
You Go Girl!!!:)

Great! I want to do that. I'll be watching with interest. I have no idea how to find one to join - or whether I could get fit enough. Good luck!!

my neighbour did a try a tri and loved the experience. no pressure.
I hope to start back into my running tomorrow, I've been slowly healing from that incident where I thought I could stop a moving car...

we need to have goals don't you think?
