I checked my bank account balance again today. I'm starting to get very nervous. I only have enough money to live comfortably for two more months. I'm going to have to pull some more money out of my retirement account. I didn't want to, but I really don't want to go back to the days of paying all except a dollar for rent then taking that dollar to the grocery store to buy ramen noodles and iced tea. I'll Fed Ex the paperwork tomorrow and I think I'll get the money by October 1st.
I'll be looking for work so I can make it last longer this time. I'm thinking of signing on with a temp agency. In the past they've been able to put me in an assignment right away. That will allow me to put my education first. If I have to take a few days to study for a test, I won't have to worry about getting flack from a boss. I wonder how many assignments are available, though, in this economy.

Hi Jen, I worked my way through school too. The temp agency sounds like a good option and Houston's economy is good. You've got a good shot at bringing home the bacon before your retirement money makes it out of the bank.
From what I have heard companies would rather go through the temp agencies than to pay full time and benifits.
This all sounds rather worrying.
I suppose bank robbery is out of the question?

I hope things go well with the temp agency. Also hope the AVON business picks up. I signed in through your page recently, but the main product I order was out of stock and I'm afraid they're discontinuing it!! I'll try again in a few weeks.
actually i imagine a temp agency is the way to go...companies can contract out as opposed to hiring and paying benefits...best of luck with that...
Good luck--I worked full time in a large wholesale backery three of four of my undergraduate years. The plant always seemed to have major problems during exams and I remember working a 60 hour week while also taking exams and writing papers--it was crazy. When I was working on my masters, I only worked part-time and it was a wonderful experience. The problem with taking $ out of retirement is that its hard to get it back in, on the other hand, investment accounts have been losing money for the past decade.
Well - that all sounds very stressful. Life can be so tough can't it? And worrying about money is just exhausting. I hope you find a way through it all, you certainly deserve to.

I loved working for a temp agency. I was just there to do the work and not get involved in any of the office politics. A new job every few months, so I didn't have time to get bored. Best of luck to you!

Good luck with the temping - I did that for a while, and found it a very mixed bag of pleasant and horrible jobs. I hope it all works out well for you.
