Non Grata

Found this one in the garage.
My cats used to kill everything that moved, so I rarely found anything living in my old apartment.  Not true in my new place.  I found a bunch of baby spiders in my entryway downstairs.  I have no photos of them because I didn't think grab your camera...I thought grad the Raid...

When I first moved in, I noticed daylight shining through the closed door and asked maintenance to add weather stripping.  One must have snuck in before they did and laid eggs.  With no cats around, they made themselves at home.  They didn't look dangerous, just creepy.  If I find only one, I usually catch it and put it outside.  Not when I find this many.  I sprayed and then I put out glue traps.  If that doesn't work, I'll be heading to the pharmacy for some boric acid.

I found the one in the picture in my garage. Does he have six eyes?  I suspect he might be a recluse.  I have to go kill the bastard.

Update:  Too big to be a recluse.  He's dead, though.

If thats the same spider as the identical looking ones we have here in OZ they're completely harmless. We pick them up and carry them outside, they don't eat people! With so many dangerous things to be wary of, we dont worry about the harmless ones.

I live in the country so bugs are a part of life. Does a recluse have legs that long? We tend to get wolf spiders in the house. Never seen a recluse or black widow inside.

Nothing better to defeat a good night's sleep then thinking about creepy crawlies. I am with you on the squish and ask questions later.

They do have long legs, but not that long. It was the eyes that made me look twice...most spiders have eight.

I think he was harmless, but he was already dead. Like I said, if it's one or two harmless spiders I help them relocate. 20 is too many. Gotta kill 'em before they take over.
