I wanted to get my hair cut before I go to Hawaii, so I scheduled an appointment with my favorite hairdresser, the same one who did the keratin treatment. My daughter was looking at me funny last night.
"Did you straighten your hair?" she asked.
"Claudia did."
"You got your hair cut?"
"I'll let you do it next time, I promise. I want you to color it before I go to Hawaii."
I know she's good at cutting hair, but mine has a mind of it's own. My bangs will shrink to tiny little spikes that stand upright if you're not very careful. Claudia understands my hair.
I think I hurt her feelings. I feel like a horrible mother.

hmmm...just tell her claudia knows your hair...i dunno...i may be too straight forward at times...
give her a hug, tell her you love her...it will all work out.
hugs
I am sure she will get over it...Plus she is a hairdresser...She will understand that...
I agree with david, tell her you love her and let her cut it the next time.
I had my hair cut this week and it looks just like the photo here!
You aren't a horrible mother at all, let her do something with your hair next time. :)
Just tell you didn't want to bother her!!:) My girls get made at me all the time and then 10 minutes later they are over it!
It's funny but I think the men have given you good advice, you love her and she knows it. That is what matters....:-0 Hugs
Don't feel bad...I think she'll understand ;)
I let my cousin cut and color my hair out of guilt. NEVER again. EVER. She totally messed up my hair.
Not saying your daughter would mess up yours.. lol This just reminded me that my hair is a mess.
Well, I'm hoping she won't be mad for long!
Yes, of course you should feel bad.
Yes, you will need all assets to perform their best when you get to Hawaii. I'm assuming you've depilated from your big toe to your fringe in readiness for the application of a bikini. And yes, Bangs have a different meaning this side.
I question your priorities though, you won't let her near you with a clippers and will with chemicals.
Vince: My duaghter has colored my hair before and she did an excellent job. I'll trust her with the scissors next time. Even if she messes up, it will grow back. I need to make some good first impressions in the next week, though.
I'm familiar with your definition of bang. I'm hoping there will be some of that, too.
Sad! If I lived closer I'd let her cut my hair. I am majorly due for a trim but too lazy to get my butt in to get it cut.
There is nothing in the Book of Mothering that says you are obligated to let your children cut your hair. Don't feel guilty.
eh it happens. i go to several different hair dressers, all friends of mine and they never get upset when i go to the other.
it's probably different since she's your daughter but that doesn't make you a horrible mother.
