Bloggers Wanted

Last night I was looking through Craig's List and decided to check out the job listings for writers. I was surprised at how many were looking for bloggers. There are ads for contributing writers for blogs about our baseball, basketball, and football teams, but I don't know enough about those sports to apply. There is an ad for an MMA blog. I might answer that one. I have already responded to a movie blog ad and I'm thinking about responding to an ad for a travel writer.

None of these are paying jobs. They are either listed as an intern position or state there might be earning potential in the future. As long as they don't ask me to invest anything more than a little time, I'll give it a shot and see what happens. I'm not sending anyone any money.

P.S. Am I the only one who finds the Craig's List personal ads entertaining? A little bit frightening - but entertaining. (No, I'm not meeting anyone from Craig's List.)

I like to sometimes peruse the listings on Craigs List. It IS rather interesting. Although I'm amazed at how many mispelled words there are.

I've yet to answer any ad. In ANY category. After reading about those Craigs List murders...well, it kindof freaks me out.

Wow that is cool...I didn't know they could list blogging as a job...But it makes sense...It sometimes feels like a job...

I never read the personal adds there...But I am going to now...

They (the writing) are listed under jobs and gigs.

Those murders are scary, but we are far more likely to be killed by someone we know. There's a reason detectives start by investigating family and friends...

I'd like to get some more products to review so this blogger would like to find work like that. Where they let me keep the item for the review on their blog.

I'm not thinking on the lines that you will get killed, but there are a lot of really devious people out there; please be careful,
especially with your info.

It's been awhile since I went poking around on Craiglist, I think I might do that later this evenging.

Thanks for making the switch with the urls, not many have yet and I'm getting worried.

I made a few changes and will probably make a few more. You don't happen to know how I can move my NeoPlanet widget to a new page without losing all those lovely yellow dots, do you?

Hmmmm...that's a thought. Not for me, but for a few family members.

i have only looked at sailboats on Craig's list... a job blogging sounds like more commitment and work that I want to invest, especially if it's unpaid.

Hi Jen! I saw similar ads on Craigslist too. There was one that was willing to pay $50 per post. There was another one offering $300 per month (I think). The first thought that came to mind was that these blogs must of make good money to be looking for writers. I find these ads interesting too.

Would you believe I have never been on Craig's list....if you see an ad to review books let me know, I buy and read 2-3 books a week.....:-) Hugs

They are entertaining. But I seldom check them. Give the Blogging a shot, you write well. Hit it! it might go out of the park.

Confession - I've never looked at Craig's List. I might have to peek at the personals now just for the heck of it.

I know I've read about blog writing type of jobs that pay - though I don't know the rates. I'll check and see if I can find the information and I'll pass it along.

Yes, the personals are funny...in a weird frightening kind of way. Id never even consider answering one though.
Good luck with your writing job Jen, I hope it brings you fame and fortune.

There is a word that matches working without pay and it's not charity. Everybody has to eat and pay the bills, and even if the remittance is tiny there is an recognition of this.

I've never been on Craig's list either, but I have heard that there are lots of women selling "companionship" on it. :)
Let us know if you decide to write for a blog. At least you'd get to pratice your writing skills.

I'll be interested to hear how that turns out for you. I've often wondered if those ads for blog writers were worth investigating further.

Interested in hearing how you get on. I obviously must pay Craig a visit - I feel I am missing out on something here.

I sold a couple of things on craiglist. I never paid attention to any other things though.
Good luck. :)

Being a travel writer would be fantastic for you!

I find the personals fascinating, but missed connections is even better.

Sorry I didn't get back till now.
All things in your side bar are not changable from page to page. It will not work in a posting area either.

From my knowledge..it's going to have to stay where it is at in order to keep functioning properly.
