How is it possible to not think about someone for months at a time and then suddenly start missing him again? He's not a good boyfriend, but heck of a fun date. Never date a musician. Especially bass players...

It is possible! I sometimes miss the boyfriend I went out with 21 years ago! I think it's because we spent so much time together and then when we went our separate ways I never saw him again. Now that's just crazy.

I married one back in the days when acoustic upright basses prevailed and just as bass guitars were becoming prevalent. We had about 47 musical years together -- some mellow tones, some sharp notes and even a few flats -- but overall wouldn't trade those years for anything. I wasn't ready for him to leave this world, nor do I think was he, but life does eventually come to an end one way or another.
