I highly recommend this course of transparency, as opposed to having someone contact them, pretending to be a recruiter. I think it's because they're afraid they'll get sued. Benefits those that were fired, hurts those of us that were let go through no fault of our own. <br /><br />With the one guy, I think it's just a matter of refreshing his memory. From experience, I prefer not to be a reference for former employees--even if I really like them, you can easily find yourself being asked questions that may be confidential.
